Ball Shaped Vase Made for King Ahmose the First Em-0-014

This ball-shaped vase was made for King Ahmose the

First. It has a flat wide rim, a short thick neck, and a flat wide handle.

A square frame, containing the names and epithets of the king, is incised on the body; over it is the sky sign. The middle and the left lines contain the golden Horus name of the king, "Unifier of the Two Lands, Neb-Pehty-Ra, May he be given long life, eternally." The right hand line contains "Beloved of Amun-Re, Lord of the Two Lands." The vase might have contained unguent presented to the king.
