Block Statuette of Iwfaa
The squatting statuette portrays a man called Iwfaa. It depicts him sitting on a round cushion with his body completely covered by a cloak. His left hand lies flat with an open palm, while the right hand holds a lettuce, symbol of fertility. He wears a deeply striped bag wig and a long necklace that falls between his knees and is decorated with the face of the goddess Hathor, who ensures youth, beauty, and pleasure. The statuette was placed in the temple in a submissive posture to permit its owner to symbolically participate in temple offerings. | ||
